POSITION SUMMARY
Provides technical support for Engineering in design, manufacturing development and transfer of products to Production. Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality and ingenuity. May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Works under general supervision of Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer on multiple assignments of medium scope and complexity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Employee guidelines and Quality System Regulations as defined by Nissha Medical Technologies Quality Manual, practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that customer requirements and industry standards and / or regulations are met.
- Oversees maintenance and upkeep of engineering laboratory
- Coordinates with Quality to ensure laboratory equipment calibration is maintained and up to date
- Operates and determines required settings for rapid prototype equipment including but not limited to 3D printers, Laser Cutters, Clicker Press
- Assists in the design of products by conceptualizing practical solutions, innovating novel features, and investigating performance deficiencies in support of the product design process.
- Assists in the product design by developing CAD models of components or assemblies, creating drawings in a document control environment under the guidance of Engineering.
- Assists in the development of assembly processes and procedures including initial Manufacturing Assembly Instructions, Routers, Process Maps and BOMs.
- Designs, develops and qualifies fixtures and tooling for production assembly and test processes.
- Performs or coordinates with Engineering for prototype, engineering and clinical builds.
- Trains and supervises personnel on use of equipment, test methods and work instructions
- Troubleshoots design or process issues and performs failure investigations
- Performs product and component inspections, testing and reporting.
- Coordinates, documents and executes process qualification activities.
- Creates and updates component, product and process documentation, including change orders through PLM.
- Participates on various project teams and in team meetings as required.
- Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
- Regular attendance is required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate Degree (AS) or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant experience.

- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks(required)

- Strong Technical Writing skills
- Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) (required)
- Ability to use and understand general test equipment including volt meters, torque wrenches, force gages, etc. (required)

- Experience with Drafting standards and/or GD&T Tolerancing (required)

- Prior experience in a medical device manufacturing environment. (preferred)

- Experience in a regulated environment such as ISO and FDA QSR. (preferred)

- Metrology experience (preferred)
